Mindful Leadership: Presence & Connection, TED-style

IMG_3498.JPG

The theme of "TED-style" is about curiosity-driven ideas worth spreading. We'll be connecting past, present, and future, with plenty to share. As MindWise (www.mindwise.pro) has gone global, I'm thrilled to have been able to join amazing projects and programs (from TED talks to Fab Labs, Wise Leadership, VR, immersive storytelling, neuroscience, mindfulness, presence, Mindful by Design and more). There are some exciting happenings underway, and news to share. I'll give a semi-formal run-down and make some announcements 18:30-19:00; then, open conversation and enjoyment in a great space.

We're happy to share a prime location, connected to mindful embodiment: A "slow food local legend" will be offering different wines, sparkling wines, beers and soft drinks for drinking (also some snacks on the menu: fish tapas, soups, oysters, and sausages).

As Seth Godin would agree, each talk and connection shared is a true gift. Relational trust, embodied movements, it's all on the menu. Looking forward to this gift of time together!

Caitlin

Altitude Experience

What's Your Why?

“Not enough time/energy/capacity to focus on deepening my presence, voice, story and connection” is something Caitlin E. Krause hears a lot of incredible women share, yet most of us need to use these powerful abilities often in our daily lives, which have become a total life fusion as we grow our businesses, passions and leadership roles. Because life has taken on a frenetic pace, with merging of professional and personal arenas, if we feel we are disconnected from our energy, charisma and true story, we miss opportunities to build connections, relationships and business. And, most critically, we miss the chance to deeply enjoy our own life. Developing these crucial areas is a path to deeper success and fulfillment

The October 2017 Altitude Experiences are for women who are driven by curiosity; who are compassionate and inspired by a cause; who are committed to growth and discovery; who seek the best in themselves and each other.

We will address themes including connecting through story, reaching true happiness, embracing ambition, practicing positive mindsets, using negotiation, the power of presence, time and freedom, and online/offline connections and influence for impact. Read more:

Frontend Dev Conf

Flow: «Blitz»

From real life to virtual worlds, modern presence and learning encompasses adeptness in emerging technologies, combined with curiosity and self-awareness. We are constantly faced with the question of what it means to "be present", and also to be human, even as humans and computers become increasingly connected. We use technology such as virtual and augmented reality, as well as practices in mindfulness and presence, to sharpen awareness, focus, and creativity. We are no longer "cogs in a system", operating in a traditional factory input-output schema. We are connected and inter-related, thriving in a "Factory 2.0" neural network of connections, and many different layers of meaning and context. We can now creatively embrace many interactive methodologies as part of complex learning, using them in ways that support engaging, empathetic, meaningful understanding, context and growth. Best of all, for those of us who are “hacks and hackers”, problem-solvers and designers, we adopt solutions-based approaches that keep our own minds empathetic and flexible. We begin to see, quite truly, that no man is an island. The advantage of a connected mindset, with mindful awareness, is core to design thinking and interrelated systems, with a better world in focus.

Featured Speaker:

Caitlin Krause, a noted educational industry expert, has been a teacher and curriculum developer for over a decade, leading interdisciplinary programs that make learning authentic and visible. She is an active member of global education initiatives that promote young women in technology, and she is featured regularly as a speaker at EdTech conferences, including MassCUE, ISTE, BLC, and FETC. Her education skills include embedded design thinking and mindful approaches that support creative, positive learning experiences, contributing to a better world by empowering people with technology and helping them to use it as a connective vehicle. VR expands this possibility by democratizing the field of deep experiential learning. Caitlin founded the company MindWise in 2016, and her book Mindful by Design will be published in the summer of 2017. She is also currently developing a VR learning app.

This interactive discussion will examine Eduporium’s views on VR in K-12 and Higher Education and all participants will have the ability to directly work with leading VR technologies, including Samsung Gear VR, zSpace, and Oculus Rift. The discussion will help you consider and prepare for incorporating VR technology into your classroom assignments, activities, or makerspaces.

This event is hosted by Eduporium, whose overall mission is to provide innovative technology solutions for classrooms, schools, colleges, libraries, and makerspaces. We hope you will join us!
